The player's unpredictability on the ATP Tour - and struggles with his service game in especial - resulted in him falling of the top ten and eventually parting ways with former mentor Gilles Cervara.

Now collaborating with his coach and Goetzke, the tennis star has steadily progressed in the last few weeks - peaking in a tightly fought competitive win over Frenchman Corentin Moutet.

This represents the player's maiden trophy after the 2023 Rome Masters and first on a hard court from March of 2023.

Success also signifies Medvedev has won 21 victories at 21 various competitions.

"For the first time I have attended a event with my children at once, so to get a championship is particularly special," said tennis professional the champion.

"This victory is in tribute of my younger daughter Victoria, because the maiden victory I achieved when my first daughter her name was delivered was for her."

Medvedev, the past champion, had failed in his last six championship matches, comprising in the German tournament in the past months.

His counter-punching strategy and recurring outbursts on the playing surface had led some to wonder if his ability to play at the top level was finished.

Yet the athlete has altered his approach in recent weeks, attempting to approach the net and perform assertively, backed up by an enhanced service.

He came back from a break down in the first set against the difficult Moutet, winning 4 of the final five games to take the lead.

Both players swapped break points in the middle set before Moutet, attempting for his first ATP Tour victory, gained dominance to push for a final set.

Moutet rescued four early-game opportunities in a tight third set before Medvedev won the break to 15 to secure the win.

Fittingly, Medvedev earned the title with a point at the net area, with Moutet failing to control a shot after a lengthy match.
